Don't try this at home...

Or at the office... or anywhere else. It's junk. I purchased two, just in case of questionable quality, and neither one worked. Power is delivered to the Walkman, but the cable can't sustain a USB connection long enough to transfer data (music). I tried both cables on two different PCs that are running two different versions of Windows (Vista & 7).

Absolutely coincidentally, as I was contemplating chucking the Walkman into the trash, I came across the third-party data cable that I had bought a couple years ago and thought lost. (This cable was supposed to be a replacement for THAT replacement cable...) THAT cable worked fine.
