Well made and works great as designed

I really like this dock. It appears to be well made and holds the EVO 3D just fine. I like the fact that it allows you to charge the phone while docked and that it automatically places the phone into Car Dock mode when docked.

I did have a couple of minor issues with the dock. There is an insert that can be removed if you use a case for your phone to provide more room for the case. It works fine with rubber type cases as long as they are not too thick but the space was not quite wide enough for my hard case. I had to use a Dremmel tool to file away more space for my hard case but it works great now. Another issue is the suction cup tends to detach from the window a little too easy compared to some other devices I've used. It does work but I have had it fall several times. Also, the manual that came with it and the website shows two pivot points on this dock. The ball joint works as described but the arm is supposed to pivot as well. The manual and website show it has a cap that can be loosened to allow it to pivot and tightened to lock it into place but mine does not have this option. It is permanently locked into one position. It works fine attaching it to the window but if I wanted to use the part that attaches to the dash (permanently stocks to allow a flat attachment point), the pivot cannot be adjusted to all the suction to be used in this vertical mode. It appears the bolt and screwcap that allows this pivot to work has been replaced with a permanent bolt and cap. I was surprised the manual in the box clearly shows this can be loosened and adjusted but the part to be loosened has been replaced. If they redesigned the item they should have updated the manual that came in the box as well. You would think the website would be updated as well. I emailed support about this but never even received a response.
